Mama Sanctuary was founded by Daisy Kelly to provide high-quality, bespoke, women-centred care.
Meet Daisy
Daisy is an experienced midwife with almost two decades of clinical experience looking after women at all stages of their maternity journey and has a passion and commitment to providing care which empowers women to feel safe and well-supported in every part of their parenthood transition.
Daisy’s midwifery journey started as a small child. After learning that her own grandmother had been a midwife in pre-war London, Daisy began to explore the role of the midwife. It became clear that Daisy would follow in her Grandmother’s footsteps.
Daisy trained as a midwife for three years in the West Midlands, qualifying in 2007. She spent her early career in Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust before moving to King’s College NHS Foundation Trust.
During her career Daisy has worked in all areas of maternity care. She became the Lead Perinatal Mental Health Midwife at King’s College Hospital, specialising in supporting women experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, and other mental health difficulties. She is a qualified Perinatal Mental Health Champion with the Institute of Health Visiting, and a Sexual Trauma Champion with The Survivors Trust. She has worked as a Consultant Midwife supporting women to make choices outside of clinical guidance, and most recently has led a specialist team providing maternity care for vulnerable women.
When not immersing herself in midwifery, Daisy is a married mother of three young daughters who keep her very busy!
The needs of women have not changed - the need to be heard, to have their wishes respected and their worries explored. Sadly for many navigating maternity services, these needs are not being met. Mama Sanctuary offers anything from individual consultations alongside NHS care, through to full Independent Midwifery; offering all aspects of maternity care, including labour and birth midwifery care.
Daisy is registered with the Royal College of Midwives, the Royal College of Nursing and Independent Midwife UK. Her practice is regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and she has full indemnity insurance covering all aspects of practice.
